Southampton Operatic Society

Award winning Southampton Operatic Society makes its debut at The Berry Theatre with a high-spirited production of Half a Sixpence.

When young Arthur is taken from the orphanage to become an apprentice shop keeper he leaves his childhood sweetheart half a sixpence to remember him by. While her love remains constant, Artie inherits a fortune, chases a dream and discovers – to his cost – that money can’t buy happiness.

With catchy songs including “Flash, Bang, Wallop!”, “If the Rain’s Got To Fall” and ‘All in the Cause of Economy”, Half a Sixpence is guaranteed entertainment for the whole family.
